SafetyDetectives interviewed GL.iNet Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Alfie Zhao, who shared his views on users’ privacy and security—and how GL.iNet works towards safeguarding it with its router features and updates.
In the interview, Alfie touched on the core privacy and security features of GL.iNet routers, which are VPN, DNS encryption, and Firewall. Currently, GL.iNet supports OpenVPN and WireGuard, and works to expand beyond a current list of 30 compatible VPN service providers by collaborating with more partners in the future.
Alfie also briefly discussed OpenWrt as it’s the core element of GL.iNet routers. He iterated the company’s advocacy of trust and transparency, and will work to release more source code for its router products.
