Meet GL.iNet's New Firmware Download Center

We are thrilled to announce a new look for our firmware download center to offer you a greater user experience. We heard your feedback to call for a better way to navigate our download center and made the necessary changes.

The firmware download center now has a refreshed user interface, a new search bar, and more, offering an easier way to find your firmware files and other resources. We’re also making things more transparent by providing more detailed updates in our release notes.

As we continue to expand our product range and bring you cutting-edge technology, it’s time our download center reflected our mission of continuous innovation.

Here are the major changes to our firmware download center:

1. A more streamlined navigation experience

To optimize your user experience, we’ve created separate spaces for our router and IoT products specifically. The main page of the firmware download center is dedicated to our router lineup but offers a button to let you quickly switch to its IoT counterpart. Uses can also easily access our help articles specific to routers and IoT devices by clicking the icon at the top-right corner.

2. A new search bar to easily access firmware files

We’ve added a new search bar to help you easily access the firmware page for your device. Simply start typing your device name or model into the search bar. Your device will be suggested to you in an instant.

3. Firmware types displayed in a new menu bar

We replaced the old dropdown list with a new menu bar to better display all the firmware types available for a particular model, such as stable, beta, and clean. Our users can easily access the type of firmware they’re looking for.

4. Release notes provide more detailed updates

Our release notes now provide a comprehensive overview of new features, optimization, bug fixes, and vulnerability fixes. This offers our users a better idea of the changes and improvements we’ve made in each new firmware release.

5. Security updates shown at the top of the site

Any important security updates, especially those that require our users to update their firmware, will be displayed at the top section of the download center homepage. We ensure that you are notified of important announcements across our touchpoints.
